No matter what the world may say,
About a friend, devoted and true.
I pray I’ll stand strong and firm
To defend and protect their virtue.
Like Jonathan and David,
When David was so wrongly accused.
Without any hesitation- Jonathan
Came running to his rescue.
Have you a friend like this, dear one?
Whose soul you’re deeply joined?
Through such a deep and real connection;
A heart friend, I’ve heard it coined.
Delight in such a friendship,
Let not Satan feed you lies.
For no one is more precious,
Than one for you who’d willing die.
For my few and true heart friendships,
I pray my life sincerely shows,
This kind of genuine devotion,
Your soul knows I’d never let you go.
In all of life’s journeys,
Whether in joy or sorrow, too.
My friend, to you I’m connected,
By God’s love for me and you.
“And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself.” 1 Samuel 18:3
“As iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. – Proverbs 27:17
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.” Ecclesiastes 4:9
